“Kate Spade” Inspired Wedding Shower

P and A were asked to come up with a design for a black and white winter wedding shower at 94 West in Orland Park, IL.  The room had lots of wine racks and an industrial modern feel with flaming red chairs. Playing off of the chairs, invitations and color scheme, they came up with a “Kate Spade” inspired theme with black and white table runners, silver mercury glass votives, and vintage accents throughout including a vintage suitcase (a nod to the honeymoon spending money gift suggestion- the bride and groom were set on traditional shower gifts).  The bride (a fellow “Kate” herself) was delighted!

Ivory, White and Silver Winter Wedding

J. and L. didn’t need much for their winter wedding, just boutonniere’s for the ‘gents and wrist corsages for the Mom’s.  Bride L. had planned on using a all- ribbon flower bouquet made with love by a bridesmaid and didn’t need a bouquet.  Wedding planner extraordinaire Lauren Housley of Ryan Alexander Events had a different vision.  Knowing how special it is to have a bouquet on your wedding day to make you feel extra beautiful and radiant, she hatched a plan with Groom J.- Pockets Filled With Posies would create a bouquet incorporating a ribbon flower and J. would surprise L. with it, along with a note explaining just how special L. was to him on the morning of the wedding! SO SWEET!

We used white and ivory vendela, garden and spray roses, ranunculus, dusty miller and silver brunia to create a romantic and chic feel for the J. and L.’s special day- and I was told there were tears when L. read the note and saw the bouquet!

Despite the poor quality of the photo- you can still see the silk ribbon flower attached to the bouquet’s handle- giving the bouquet that final personal touch!
